With white elephants, sitting ducks

I have a lot of Radiohead albums, given to me by my brother, so when I feel like listening to Radiohead I’ll usually just put all their songs on shuffle, or just pick a random album to play in the background while I’m running or driving.

With that said, you may have already experienced this album, since it came out in 2003 – but I just discovered it this week.

Hail to the Thief strikes a chord for me. It’s pretty much like every other Radiohead album, with the same ambiguity, its inability to fit into any specific genre, and strangeĀ melancholicĀ feel. Radiohead has always been great background noise for me – just entertaining sounds – but I find myself continually drawn into the lyrics of these songs.

There’s not much else to say about this album. It’s Radiohead. And it’s good. Listen to it.
